As many of you know I formed a “Tabor Research Community” in 2023 using Patreon…but my approach is different from most. Everyone who joins, at any level, gets the same materials--as I realize people have widely differing financial means, and I am not interested in “selling” my work to those who want to be part of this, especially to the highest bidder. We have an amazing group, diverse, open minded, harmonious, and over time we have developed links and I think, in some cases, genuine friendships.

We meet once a month on Zoom, and usually spend a session or more on a given topic. I distribute study materials of the texts we work on, so you don’t need to buy anything. This video was part of our meeting last month and everyone got their own PDF copy of this text that I go through in the video.
Our next Zoom meeting is this coming Saturday, February 22nd at Noon EST. We record for those who can not make it live. Previously we did several months on “Jewish Christianity,” that is the beliefs and ideas associated with James, the brother of Jesus, and the original Jerusalem apostles and HQ of the “Jesus Movement.” In this upcoming February meeting we will be looking at the Didache–an amazing document discovered in 1873–that we think dates to the late 1st or early 2nd century. What makes it really fascinating is that it seems devoid of any of Paul’s theology–and might be only only intact document, other than the letter of James in the New Testament, reflecting what I have called a “Christianity before Paul.” As soon as you sign up you are on the list for the Zoom link.
