Many Bible readers assume that “Bible Prophecy” refers to the FUTURE–what is called “eschatology.” In fact, as the very makeup of the Hebrew Bible demonstrates, such is not the case. Even the book of Daniel, that many would consider quintessentially “prophetic,” is not included among the Biblical Prophets. Jesus, Paul, and other early Christians routinely refer to Torah, Prophets, Writings (aka Psalms), and the ideas behind those categories from the 2nd Temple period (see Luke 16:29; 24:44: Acts 24:14; 2 Timothy 3:15, etc.).
