Some Personal Reflections on the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament

Here are some personal reflections on the Hebrew Bible, or Old Testament, and the New Testament. Do they represent, at their core, the same basic faith in the Creator God, the ethical Way, and the eschatological Future of humankind? I find them a rather troubled coupling. The Christians were wise to include what they came to call the “Old Testament,” against all forms of Hellenizing “gnostic,” ideas of an evil Creator, represented by the Jews and their Torah. But sadly, the essential direction that the 2nd century entering Gentile Christian Church, (Barnabas, Shepherd of Hermas, Ignatius, Clement, Justin, and Irenaeus), largely left behind or repudiated what went before, as well as the children of Abraham who preserved and represented those Ancient Paths.
