Who Was James the Brother of Jesus?

Please visit my Youtube Channel and Subscribe, for much more to come.

I have written a lot on James, the brother of Jesus, also known in history as “James the Just,” especially in my trilogy of Simon and Schuster books, The Jesus Dynasty, The Jesus Discovery, and Paul and Jesus. books as well as many dozens of posts on this blog–just try the search feature above for “James” and you will get most of them. There are a number of “Jameses” in the New Testament–including the apostle and fisherman, brother of John–but the James of which I speak is one of the four brothers of Jesus (Mark 6:3), the one Paul knew and visited in Jerusalem (Galatians 1:19), and the one clearly in charge of the earliest Jesus community after the crucifixion (Galatians 2:9; Acts 15:12-21; 21:17-26).

Note: I am continuing to post  here on my blog the recent interviews I have done with with Derek Lambert, the dynamic autodidactic  host of MythVision Podcasts--which covers the gambit of religion, philosophy and history. Check it out–Derek has interviewed a “Who’s Who” of academics in my field of Christian Origins (Ehrman, Goodacre, Allison, Pagels, and many more), as well as over 1000 videos covering history, philosophy, science, religion, and culture.
