Two Special Archaeology Lectures at UNC Charlotte this Week!

We are most privileged to have two distinguished Israeli archaeologists visiting our campus at UNC Charlotte on Tuesday, November 13th, Drs. Rona Avissar Lewis and Rafael Y. Lewis, on their way to present at the Denver conferences (ASOR/AAR/SBL/BAR). Rona’s lecture is sponsored by my Dept. of Religious Studies and Rafi’s by our History Department. Rafi, of course, is co-Director with Shimon Gibson and me, of our ongoing excavations at Mt Zion.

Both lectures promise to be fascinating and ground-breaking! I can’t wait to hear them and I know our students are quite excited.

These lectures are free and open to the public. You can find times and locations on the flyers below and if you are coming from off campus you can find a campus map here. Visitor parking is available at the designated lots at a minimal charge. Many of us, including my students, are going to both so if you come to the first you can walk with us to the second.
