Is the Virgin Mary tuned into our manifold problems in the world today? I recently wrote this post titled “Mary Mother of God or Jewish Mother of Seven?” making the case for a very Jewish mother of Jesus in contrast to the quasi-Divine status that millions give to the “Blessed Virgin Mary.” My argument is that a sober and more realistic historical view of Jesus’ mother really honors her more than the theological construct that has nothing to do with reality.
