Cover Story on the Talpiot Tomb in Popular Archaeology

by James Tabor

The June, 2012 issue of Popular Archaeology features two major articles on the exploration of the Talpiot “Patio” tomb: “The Resurrection Tomb” by James Kensington and “Probing the Secrets of Jerusalem’s Patio Tomb” by William Tarant. Both are lavishly illustrated with photos and drawings, some of which appear here for the first time. Kensignton’s article offers a good summary of the results of the exploration as presented in my academic paper at Bible and Interpretation as well as some of the subsequent research.  Bill Tarant, who was our technician from General Electric Technologies, presents some new and fascinating information on the operation itself and some of its challenges and successes.
